Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Jonathan Safran Foer

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close started with the young Osker Schell and his mother in a limo going to his dad's funeral who died in the twin towers. Osker is extremally devistatd by the death of his father. A little while after his fathers death he always wanted to be by his fathers old belonging because they comforted his. He was looking at a vase was he acidently droped it and it shattered. In the middle of the mess he found a key that looked like it opened some sort of locker. Osker and his father always used to play games where his dad would give his mysteries to find out. Oskar thought this was his dad who wanted him to go on a big goose chase to find what the key oppended. So the whole book he goes searching for the key. He goes through a lot to find the box and he and his mother get closer and closer throughout the book even though at one peoint Oskar said he would have her died rathar than his dad.

Barneys version blog

The story is written in the style of an autobiography of Barney Panofsky, and recounts his life in varying detail. At the end of the book he is diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease which explains his memory losses (corrected by his son Michael through the use of foot-notes), and his repeatedly reminding himself of the name of the utensil used to strain spaghetti. In the end Barney is right about the most questionable event in the book, that he did not murder Boogie. Mike learns it must have been a water bomber plane that picked up Boogie while he was swimming in the lake while Barney was asleep, and dropped the water on the mountain.

Passage 1: “I’ll bet the last book you read was your dick and jane reader, and your probably still trying to work out the plot. Where did you learn how to question a suspect? Watching Dragnet? Reading true detective? No, i would have known. Your lips would still be chapped”

This show a lot about Baney’s personality it shows he can be a jerk and he has a bit of an attitude.

Marley and Me Fan Letter

Marley And Me Fan letter

I really enjoyed the book Marley and Me. Dogs are my favorite animal so I liked how it showed the relationship between a man and his dog. Many people know the term that a dog is a mans best friend I thought this book really executed that well. I loved the part when Marley got afraid of the thunderstorm and completely demolished the whole garage. I also like how the dog was their for the good times and the bad times. Overall it was a great book and any one who loves dogs I would seriously suggest that you read this book.
